About this dataset
This dataset is based on the analysis of the VIIRS sensor that acquires images in the Middle Infrared (MIR), with 375 m resolution (band I04 at 3.74 μm - Imaging band) and temporal frequency of about 4-6 images per day. The Volcanic Radiative Power (VRP) is calculated using the MIR-method with a lower detection limit of about 0.01 MW. Note that high eruptive activity produces underestimated VRP estimates due to saturation of the I04 band. Data are processed in Near Real Time, that is within 1-4 hours from image acquisition.
