About this dataset
This dataset is based on the analysis of the MODIS sensor that acquires images in the Middle Infrared (MIR), with 1000 m resolution (band B21 at 3.96 μm - Fire Channel) and temporal frequency of about 3-4 images per day. The Volcanic Radiative Power (VRP) is calculated using the MIR-method with a lower detection limit of about 1 MW. Data are processed in Near Real Time, that is within 1-4 hours from image acquisition.
